The Tyres Play Area
Have your say on a new play area
As part of a 5-year development plan for the regeneration of the Tyres Playing Field, IDT is now working on the creation of a new small play area. In order to build a play area that suits the needs of the community and children that live, learn and play in Inchinnan, we want to hear from you.
As space is limited at this location, we would like to ask residents (particularly young people) the types of equipment that you would like to see installed.
The survey is now OPEN. The closing date for submitting surveys is 30 September 2026 at midnight.
Check back here for the latest updates and news on the project. Page last updated: 10 July 2026.

Proposed location for the new play area
The survey is now OPEN. The closing date for submitting surveys is 30 September 2026 at midnight.
The consultation period will run from 16th July to 30th September 2026. If you have any questions or concerns, please email rebekah-idt@outlook.com
The need for a new play area was identified in the Inchinnan Local Place Plan (ILPP) consultation with residents of Inchinnan between October 2025 to March 2026. Further, it was identified by Renfrewshire Council in their Play Area Assessment (PAA) carried out in June 2025 that the current play area located opposite the Inchinnan Playing Field is not easily accessible by all areas of the village.
The project we would like you to consider involves:
-
The installation of modern and inclusive play equipment, including sensory equipment.
-
The construction of the new play area in a raised manner so that it can be used throughout the year without fear of drainage issues affecting play provision.
-
The installation of modern safety surfacing catering for the needs of all children.
-
The installation of a 1.2m high round top fence.
-
The creation of a proper access path leading to the facility.
