What is a Local Place Plan?
–
A Local Place Plan (LPP) is a community-led plan that brings local people together to create a shared vision for the future of their neighbourhood or community. Our LPP will cover the Inchinnan Community Council area.
If you want to learn more about Local Place Plans and how they work, you can check out this How To Guide, which explains the process in further detail. You can also have a look at Place at the Table’s handy training videos.
Who is creating the plan?
+
Inchinnan Community Council, in collaboration with Inchinnan Development Trust, have formed a steering group with members of various local groups.
The steering group will be supported by local volunteers and consultants from Place at the Table and Imagine If who create similar plans across Scotland. Together, we’ll turn your ideas and opinions into a plan that reflects the ambitions of the whole community.
Why should I get involved?
+
This is a chance to shape the future of Inchinnan for ourselves, our families and friends, and generations to come. The plan will also feed into Renfrewshire Council’s next Local Development Plan.
By taking part, we can build an understanding of our community’s needs while gaining a stronger voice in the planning system - empowering us to guide how our place develops.
What will be in the plan?
+
It could include a vision for how Inchinnan might look in ten years, big ideas to make the village more welcoming and accessible for all residents, and suggestions for the kinds of new homes that might be needed. We're also interested in ways to make Inchinnan more sustainable and environmentally friendly It could also explore how current initiatives could be continued, as well as ideas for starting new projects or enhancing local services.
Will my idea be included?
+
That’s the aim! Inchinnan is home to many different people and we expect a wide range of ideas to be submitted. We will identify those which will have a meaningful impact and bring benefit to the community.
We want to hear from as many people as possible. Over the next few months we’ll be at local events, hosting community conversations, and speaking with groups and residents across Inchinnan.
When will it be completed?
+
Our aim is to have the Local Place Plan fully completed by March 2026. This timeline allows us to carefully gather input from the community, assess local needs and opportunities, and develop a clear, actionable plan for the future of Inchinnan.
To help you understand how we will reach this goal, we have outlined the full process in our journey map below.
How can I get in touch?
+
The Steering Group is point of contact for enquiries. They're here to help keep the community informed and involved through the process. The group is made up of people from local organisations, including Inchinnan Community Council, Inchinnan Historical Interest Group, Inchinnan Parish Church, Inchinnan Scouts, and Inchinnan Development Trust.
