đź’¬ Respectful Conversation - Social Media

At Inchinnan Development Trust, we believe social media should be a place where our community can share ideas, celebrate local achievements, ask genuine questions and learn more about the work taking place across Inchinnan. 🌿

We welcome constructive feedback and respectful discussion. We understand that people will sometimes have different opinions about projects or decisions, and that's perfectly okay. Healthy debate is an important part of any thriving community.

However, we also have a responsibility to protect our volunteers, staff, trustees and supporters from abuse, intimidation and the deliberate spread of misinformation.

🤝 Our Commitment

Every update published by the Trust is carefully researched and based on the best information available at the time. We work hard to ensure that our communications are accurate, transparent and honest.

As a small community charity, we rely heavily on the dedication of our volunteers and a very small staff team. Every hour spent responding to false claims, online abuse or deliberate attempts to undermine our work is time taken away from delivering projects, protecting local greenspaces and providing services that benefit our community.

For that reason, we have a zero-tolerance approach to behaviour that damages our ability to serve local people.

đźš« Our Moderation Policy

To help maintain a positive, welcoming and informative environment, we reserve the right to hide or remove comments and block users who repeatedly:

  • ❌ Spread misinformation or knowingly publish false or misleading claims.

  • ❌ Make abusive, offensive, defamatory or threatening comments.

  • ❌ Harass, intimidate or personally target our volunteers, staff, trustees or members of the public.

  • ❌ Repeatedly attempt to undermine Trust projects through misleading, inflammatory or bad-faith comments.

  • ❌ Post spam, advertising or content unrelated to the discussion.

Constructive criticism is always welcome. Deliberate misinformation, personal attacks and abusive behaviour are not.

📧 Have a Question?

Our staff and volunteers do not engage in arguments or prolonged debates on social media.

If you have a genuine question about one of our projects, would like clarification on something we've shared, or believe something we've published is incorrect, we encourage you to contact us directly. We are always happy to provide accurate information, explain our decisions and, where appropriate, correct any genuine errors.

đź’š Thank You

The overwhelming majority of people who engage with our work are supportive, respectful and passionate about making Inchinnan an even better place to live.

Your encouragement, questions and shared enthusiasm help make our projects possible, and we are incredibly grateful for the positive community that continues to grow around the Trust.

🌳 A Final Note

Please remember that our social media channels exist to share the work of Inchinnan Development Trust, celebrate our volunteers, partners and community, and encourage positive local engagement.

They are not intended to provide a platform for persistent misinformation, personal attacks or behaviour that discourages others from participating.

By following our pages and engaging respectfully, you're helping us create a positive online space that reflects the Trust's values of protecting places, supporting people and building community.

Thank you for helping us keep our online community welcoming, respectful and focused on making a positive difference. đź’š
